Our storytelling tour of Scotland includes plenty of walking as we explore the landmarks in 3 cities, the aquatic archaeology of the Crannog Center, and the natural geography of the Highlands. Although June is considered a dry month for Scotland, there is still an average 21 days of rain. So, we need comfortable shoes that can stay dry. We also need shoes that can be worn with a variety of styles and not take up too much room in the suitcase. We are taking recommendations!

Rated for all day wear for travel and urban environments weighing less than 10 pounds and speed lacing, these came recommended by several sights and friends. One of us may have already bought this pair.

Stylish, durable and lightweight with shock-absorbing Fluidform Technology. It's full leather, but not waterproof.

Storm-Tread outsole with micro grooves for better road traction. They are designed for use in wet weather.

Durable and completely waterproof, these are a step away from tennis shoe style. Clarks receive consistently good reviews for comfort and value, but I couldn't find any reviews for this one even though it was on this site as one of the best shoes for walking in Scotland.
